Participates in design, development and implementation of systems engineering activities, to include OS technical support, systems programming and data center capabilities. Responsible for components of complex engineering and/or analytical tasks and activities. Assists in establishment of input/output processes and working parameters for hardware compatibility and coordination of subsystems design and integration of total system. Serves as a fully seasoned/proficient technical resource; provides tech knowledge and capabilities as team member and individual contributor. Will not have direct reports but will influence and direct activities of a team related to special initiatives or operations. Provides input on staffing, budget and personnel. Typically 5 or more years of systems engineering experience.
As part of the Mainframe Data Center Recovery team, the role will involve responsibility for:
* Coordination & management of testing of the bank's global mainframe disaster recovery environments * Continual inspection & improvement of recovery facilities, procedures and organizational readiness * Management of recovery plans and associated processes for the entire mainframe environment * Management of the disaster recovery testing firewalls, working closely with network teams and application teams * Management of the storage replication infrastructure working closely with storage team SME's, data center support teams and vendors * Involved in the design, build & verification of mainframe disaster recovery solutions * Act as central recovery co-ordination in DR recovery events, real or exercise
Required Job Skills:
* Solid understanding of mainframe technology * Basic understanding of TCP/IP networking. * As role will involve training, a good technical aptitude with a proven ability and enthusiasm for assimilating new skills is essential * Must be highly risk focused with experience of working in an environment where risk management is a key element * Excellent communication skills - written & oral - able to communicate at all levels from executive to technician. * Excellent organizational & project management skills. Able to manage projects involving diverse virtual teams. * Strong analytical skills and ability to quickly assess situations based on diverse and complex inputs * Role will require occasional work outside of normal hours (weekends/evenings) and participation in a 24x7 on-call rotation

* Exposure to enterprise firewall technology * Experience in an IT operations role * Knowledge of disk and tape storage technologies, specifically replication
