Job Description

CACI is looking for a self-motivated Linux Administrator with 3-5+ years of experience to join a growing IT team supporting Naval Surface Warfare Center Carderock Division. The candidate will be responsible for installing, maintaining and troubleshooting Linux based servers and operating systems along with their associated applications. This will also include hardware maintenance and user support.

This position provides an excellent opportunity for candidates to enter an environment where all tiers of IT support are encountered. This allows for the candidate to utilize their past expertise while being able to continually learn and grow their skillset. Exposure to a wide range of technologies including and beyond Linux will provide the candidate with hands on experience as they encounter unique challenges in learning how to setup, configure and maintain hardware and software.

Successful candidates would be expected to have solid communication skills that will come in the form of emails, phone calls and one on one customer interaction. It is required that the candidate be able to obtain and maintain a secret level clearance. Additionally, he or she must also be comfortable working on various projects simultaneously where needed.

What You'll Get to Do:

* Responsible for installation, maintenance and troubleshooting of operating system software patches and application updates in a Linux environment.
* Responsible for configuring both networked and standalone assets in accordance with DISA Secure Computing Technical Implementation Guides (STIGs).
* Responsible for creating and understanding scans of stand-alone and networked Linux systems by utilizing vulnerability management tools such as ACAS.
* Support OS systems (Windows, Servers and Linux), including network configuration and account management.
* Responsible for interacting, documenting and resolving user issues as they come in on a daily basis.

You'll Bring These Qualifications:

* Strong background in Linux with vast knowledge of Linux commands
* Active Secret Security Clearance
* 3-5+ Years of Professional Experience
* Associates degree or better in Computer Science, Management Information Systems, or related field OR equivalent combination of education and experience in Systems Engineering, Network Security Engineering, Operating Systems and/or Desktop Support.

These Qualifications Would be Nice to Have:

* Bachelor's Degree
* Self-motived to explore and learn new technologies.
* An active Secret Clearance is not required but preferred.
* Good analytical and creative problem solving skills for installation, maintenance and troubleshooting software and hardware problems.
* Good communication skills to interact with team members and support personnel.
* Ability to work independently
* Ability to research and learn new concepts and technologies as needed.
