Job Description

The Learning Management System (LMS) Administrator is responsible for configuring, managing, and supporting the expanded use of the Absorb LMS across Appian. This person will manage the integrity of courses, enrollments, users, reporting, and administrator rights for Appian's employees, partners, and customers.

This position involves performing technical activities in the system, such as: generating reports, publishing courses, and driving broader initiatives. Critical responsibilities include leading a reconfiguration effort and establishing governance associated with administrator privileges.

The LMS Administrator participates in the LMS Admin User Group and serves as the technical expert on Absorb's features and functionalities, while also managing the relationship with the Absorb customer support team.

The LMS Administrator reports to the Director, Learning and Development. The right candidate has experience in an administrator capacity with Absorb or similar learning management system. A strong background in configuration and governance, quick thinking, and problem solving through collaboration with the team.

Primary Responsibilities

* Manage the re-configuration of the Absorb LMS for both internal and external users.


* Develop, implement, and manage a course numbering and categorizing schema and nomenclature.


* Curate content to align with the course number and categorizing schema with jobs roles and competencies.


* Establish and manage rules and guidelines for course creation and publishing, including testing.


* Develop and provide standard and custom reports.


* Contribute to the development of custom dashboards.


* Train internal users on the features and functionality of the Absorb LMS.


* Review and reconcile monthly invoices for internal and external users in alignment with contractual terms.


* Manage the relationship with the Absorb customer support team.



Requirements

* BA/BS degree in computer science, computer engineering, or related field.


* 3 - 5 years experience performing systems configuration or database management.


* Experience administering a learning management system (Absorb preferred).


* Leading the configuration of a learning management system a plus.


* Excellent interpersonal and relationship-building skills.


* Exceptional project planning and management skills to meet deadlines and achieve outcomes.


* Strong ability to solve problems through collaboration.


* Ability to manage multiple assignments and tasks simultaneously.
