Job Description

The Academic and Media Services group at Boston University School of Law seeks an energetic, self-directed, motivated, and professional individual who thrives in a fast-paced, dynamic environment. This person will serve on the Command Center service team as primary Subject Matter Expert and/or Technical Lead, and on the Design/Consulting service team as Subject Matter Expert. Act as the primary point of contact for Faculty and Staff members requesting technology support for their classrooms, meetings, and events. Ensure all inquiries receive appropriate response, resolution, and/or escalation. Dispatch student employees and equipment for both regular operational activity and unplanned incidents. Assist the management team with preparing planned events and requests. Provide backup advanced support to Technology Manager in the operation, installation, maintenance, repair, troubleshooting and support of technology systems and services on campus. This position may entail working occasional and/or scheduled evenings, weekends and/or holiday hours and being on call, as needed.

Required Skills

1-3 years working experience. Bachelor's Degree required. Certified Technology Specialist (CTS) certification(s) preferred. Must be able to lift heavy equipment (up to 50 pounds). Strong writing and organizational skills required in order to record incidents and requests. Must possess excellent interpersonal communication and customer service skills, including the ability to interact with all levels of an organization and patience when working to solve complex technical issues with diverse customers. Ability to work productively in cross-functions teams and/or resourcefully and independently as an individual is required. Must possess the ability to work autonomously and maintain control in rapidly changing situations. Must be able to learn and support new technology quickly. Required Technical Expertise: Experience with lecture capture technology(Echo360 experience preferred). Equipment expertise includes LCD and/or DLP projectors, visual presenters, audio amplifiers and mixers, various audio and video switching devices and electronic control systems.
