Job Description

Performance Testing Team Engineers in IBM Cloud & Cognitive Software are responsible for capacity planning, implementation, systems performance analysis and troubleshooting technical platforms for optimization and delivery in a distributed environment. while driving automation initiatives in our team? Our team is seeking a dynamic personality who can be a Test Lead, interface with multiple teams to understand requirements, plan the test cases and execute them to meet the deliverable deadline.

You are able to "look past the code" and interpret report data, translating it into a business impact or strategic actions that need to occur. This interpretation is where our technology meets and affects the business. You apply creativity and judgment to your developmental work on different projects, and jump at the chance to share your findings to make those around you better at what they do. You recognize complex problems related to functional objectives quickly, analyze situations and implement solutions to fix them.

The ideal candidates must have technical and critical thinking skills, a passion for technology and software, and strong teaming skills. Must be able to work in a high energy environment and exhibit creative thinking and collaboration. You'll use the latest tools and technologies available to deliver software components that impact our partners' business, and ultimately, their success. * Mentor and train new team members


* Interpret the requirements and write integration test plans for new features for a cloud object storage service.


* Improve quality of service and gain operational efficiency via driving automation.


* Accurately estimate the scope of deliverable and perform resource planning.


* Collaborate with System Architects, Development and Support teams.


* Actively participate in daily scrum and scrum planning meetings


* Regularly update management on progress made and any possible red flags for planned deliverables.

Required Technical and Professional Expertise

* Creating test plans, resource plan and test execution


* Fluency in most of the following is required/desired: Scripting (Python preferred), Jenkins, Jira, Github, etc.


* Prior experience in performance testing-driven automation



Preferred Tech and Prof Experience

* 3+ years' experience leading a team of two or more Test/Dev Engineers
* 2 + years of experience in planning, performance role. Experience with integration and interpretation of performance metrics
* 2+ years of experience working with public cloud (such as, but not limited to, IBM Cloud, SoftLayer, AWS, etc.)
* 2+ years of (installation and management) experience with Linux (such as Ubuntu, RedHat, CentOs)
* 2+ years' experience working with Multi-hypervisor environments (such as VMWare, KVM, Hyper-V, VirtualBox)
* 2+ years' development and maintenance experience of software solutions in Java AND/OR Go
* 2+ years of expertise with various storage benchmarking tools (such as FIO, vdbench, cosbench, OG, etc.)
* 2+ years of expertise with networking fundamentals and infrastructure
* Skills Proficiency in scripting languages such as Shell, Python, Perl, Ruby, etc.
