Job Purpose

To manage the delivery of a project, from initiation to completion that delivers business change and subsequent benefits, using appropriate frameworks, tools and techniques, supported by effective stakeholder management.

Key Accountabilities

* Challenge project teams to ensure project scope, designs and delivery solutions are innovative, efficient, fit for purpose and prevent creep.
* Lead a team to manage and deliver a project safely to time, cost and specification within governance requirements including project initiation documents, project execution plans and management of plans, schedule, National Grid resources, budgets, quality and risks.
* Provide accurate and timely monthly project status reports covering milestone progress, risk management, current and forecast financial performance to ensure robust tracking and reporting against the long-term plan.
* To manage projects within a business function utilizing all available resources and relationships.
* To ensure predictable and unexpected complexities are effectively managed through stakeholder influence and management.
* Manage dependencies, risks, plans, costs and resourcing for each project and dependencies across interlinked projects.
* To ensure that the project offers a range of options and implements a change which achieves the objectives that have been set and that the business benefits are realized.
* Make use of full methodology and techniques autonomously for self and to supervise and advise others on appropriate approach.

Supervisory/Interpersonal- Experience Required

* Demonstrable interpersonal skills and influencing skills to manage relationships across the business to engage and work alongside business function leads to drive performance improvements and agree required changes to business processes.
* Exceptional communication, both written and verbal, are required.

Qualifications

* Educated to degree level in a relevant discipline or, an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience
* Experience with Agile project delivery
