Job Description

Medical Devices Business Services, Inc. is seeking a Lead Programmer for our Irvine, California location. The position will develop and generate SAS analysis datasets, tables, listings, and graphs from all clinical sources, mentoring, training, and support of junior team members. Lead the development and maintenance of associated operating procedures; represent the organization at external industry forums; and develop and maintain a global SAS macro library in collaboration with management. Work with data management leadership to provide input on reporting processes and standards. Support the development for any custom data management reports; develop and maintain global harmonized processes and procedures for programming; and assist with vendor evaluation, selection, contracting, and providing oversight to activities for studies where programming is outsourced. Design, implement, and maintain complex programming deliverables across a wide variety of clinical platforms and therapeutic areas. Will be responsible for mentoring less senior team members.

Qualifications

Qualified applicants will have a Master's degree in Biotechnology, Statistics, Computer Science or a related field and 3 years of experience supporting clinical research within the medical devices or pharmaceuticals industry. Employer will also accept a Bachelor's degree in stated fields and 6 years of experience supporting clinical research within the medical devices or pharmaceuticals industry. Experience must include the following: Base SAS, SAS/STAT, and SAS Macro Language; programming experience in medical device or pharmaceutical clinical trials, including drafting of technical programming specifications, and programming and validating ADaM datasets, tables, listings and figures for regulatory submission deliverables, publications and presentations; demonstrated experience working on global cross-functional clinical study teams with representation from biostatistics, clinical science, clinical operations and medical; accessing raw data from electronic data capture systems, including Medidata Rave. Up to 10% international and domestic travel may be required.
