Responsibilities:

We are seeking a Network Architect to join our NASA team in Greenbelt, MD. You will work directly with Government and Contractor staff to define objectives, architect solutions, and recommend implementation approaches for future space communications networks. JOB DESCRIPTION: • Collaborate with the NASA user community to solicit future communications needs •Work with NASA and Industry partners to define concepts to deliver communications services •Perform Analysis of Alternatives to recommend implementation solutions. Analyses include performance characterization, technology suitability, risk assessment, schedule, and budget estimates •Document solutions and implementation plan to support acquisitions and development efforts •Support component development, delivery, and integration into NASAs communication architecture •Develop technical reports and documentationQualifications:

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE: •MS Degree in Systems Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or Communications Systems and 12+ years of related technical experience. •Minimum 5 years experience in space network architecture planning, acquisition, development, and delivery •Experience leading architecture trades for system definition and recapitalization projects •Demonstrated successful client relationships •Demonstrated successful problem solving, analytic, and presentation skills •Experience with commercial communications technologies, products, and standards •Up to 20% travel •Active Top Secret required. Must be eligible for SCI & Poly. PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: •Experience with NASA's Space Network and Near Earth Network users, assets, and operations •Experience integrating technology demonstrations and prototypes into operational systems •Experience with NASA Processes and Standards
