Position Summary

As a Lead Software Engineer on our web team, you will lead the technical direction of a highly collaborative team to deliver our next generation of payments applications. You will be responsible for supporting the web team and web team products with your deep expertise, strong mentorship and architectural guidance - all towards the goal of building web applications that are flexible, reliable, secure and a joy to use.

Primary Responsibilities

* Building high quality web products
* Owning a wide range of projects from concept, through implementation, to deployment
* Mentoring other engineers to develop their skills, build collaboration and optimize the collective performance of the team
* Providing code reviews, teaching with pair-programming, and giving compelling tech talks
* Focus on continually improving your skills as a software engineer by pursuing learning opportunities and exploring new tools
* Ability to augment every team you work on as as the "go to" technical expert in multiple domains, as a clear communicator and as an effective collaborator

Requirements

* 7+ years of web development experience
* Javascript Mastery
* Front-end mastery including HTML/CSS, page render lifecycle and site performance optimization
* Experience leading multiple cross-functional projects from design through to production deployment
* Experience building and working with RESTful JSON APIs
* Experience building and working on large-scale websites, with attention to scalability and performance concerns
* Experience working with Ruby and Rails
* Experience with React and ES6 Features
* Experience leading/creating development life cycle and Git workflows for teams
* Comfortable with Relational Databases such as MySQL or Postgres

Bonus points

* Previous experience in the payments industry
* Experience building Single Page Applications
* Experience with continuous integration and delivery
* Experience with Webpack and Babel
* Experience with AWS
* Experience working with microservices
* Experience working with Docker/containerization
* An active GitHub repository
