Lead Database Administrator/Architect

The Digital Data Engineering and Excellence team is a highly collaborative and passionate

group. We love solving hard problems that have a major impact for our customers and partners

and building reusable solutions. We are seeking Data Engineers / DBA's who can operate with a

high degree of autonomy and work with our digital engineering teams towards building ground

breaking capabilities and transformative customer experiences.

We are seeking a hands-on Database Architect cum Data Engineer who can design, code and

provide architecture solutions for the team, including but not limited to database design, data

modeling, and data integration using cutting edge technologies including open source tools on

public Cloud platforms. The right candidate for this role is someone who is passionate about -

technology, interacting with product owners and technical stakeholders, thrives under pressure,

and is hyper-focused on delivering exceptional results with good teamwork skills. The candidate

will have the opportunity to influence and interact with fellow technologists beyond his team and

influence technology partners across the enterprise.

The Job and Expectations

* Development - Design and build database and data engineering solutions to serve the needs across the Consumer Identity Organization.
* Data Modeling - Apply your expertise to help model structured and unstructured data. Own these models at a high level, and consult with feature teams to help them model applications.
* Data Integration - Plan and build data integrations between systems. Figure out the best way to share information and build the tech needed to execute.
* Data Stewardship - Own or support the data definitions and lineage across our organization.
* Define systems of record, catalog operational and non operational data stores. Consult with features teams on how to get the data they need.
* Monitoring : Define monitoring for the data layer and enable high availability and resiliency across the data layer.
* Mentoring - Help teach other team members about data architecture, and also be a consultant for developers who need help with data.
* Engineer reusable capabilities and pipelines for DML, DDL, maintenance, and ETL needs that can be shared across teams.
* Stay current on technical knowledge and tooling to help the team utilize new technologies.

Who you are

* An experienced database architect and administrator in the areas of Oracle, PostgreSQL, MySQL, Cassandra, and Mongo
* A hands-on problem solver who seeks to understand a domain and solve its data problems
* Work directly with Product Owners and customers to deliver data products in a collaborative and agile environment
* Provide guidance to business and tech partners on best methods to engineer data solutions
* Code and Build data pipeline frameworks to automate repeatable tasks
* A high-level thinker who still wants to do hands on work and stay at the cutting edge of technology

Basic Qualifications

* Bachelor's Degree or military experience
* At least 2 years of experience developing, deploying, testing in AWS public cloud
* At least 2 years' experience in system analysis
* At least 4 years of experience working on data projects and data management engineering
* At least 3 years of experience in different database technologies including Oracle, PostgreSQL, MySQL, Cassandra, Mongo, Dynamo DB, AWS RDS
* At least 1 year experience using Git version control and Jenkins
* AWS and Database Certifications

Preferred Qualifications

* 3+ years of experience in at least one scripting and one programming language (e.g. Python)
* 5+ years of experience developing software solutions
* 2+ years of experience in an Agile delivery environment
* Experience with Google Cloud and Microsoft Azure
