What Is Cool About This Position

As a Data Engineer you will be at the forefront of our initiative to centralize all company data to a single source system. You will help by bringing to bear modern tools/technologies such as Google BigQuery, Apache Airflow, Python/R/SQL and Looker along with other visualization tools.

The Day to Day

* You unite the organization with a top-level business view of data and analytics and how it flows throughout the business
* Build run and maintain data pipelines utilizing GCP including BigQuery, Cloud Composer, Storage, Encryption and various APIs and SDKs with python
* You translate complex business requirements into scalable technical solutions
* Build the infrastructure required for optimal extraction, loading and transformation (ELT) of data from a wide variety of databases, platforms, and APIs
* Architect in converting legacy reporting from disparate data sources into automated real time metrics with full dimensionality
* Support ad-hoc reporting requests from our business partners
* Craft and maintain a data dictionary across the data warehouse and reporting systems
* Design and administer data access policies and procedures
* Ensure regulatory compliance and InfoSec policies are in place
* Identify and resolve performance and data quality issues
* You protect data from unauthorized usage and provide audit paths and access logs
* Maintain high standards of quality within the team by establishing good practices and habits
* Other duties as business priorities arise

Your Skills and Expertise

* 10+ years professional experience in a similar role
* Masterful demonstration of handling both unstructured and structured data
* Past experience as a DBA across multiple flavors of databases
* A Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, MIS/CIS, Computer Engineering, Mathematics or a related technical degree. Masters degree preferred
* Demonstrated proficiency with Python, SQL, Git, Docker, Kubernetes
* Experience with cloud computing (Google Cloud or AWS preferred)
* Analytical with the ability to collect, organize, model, analyze, and disseminate significant amounts of information with attention to detail and accuracy
* Experience building and optimizing ETL workflows
* Knowledge of Tableau, Looker, Domo, PowerBI, or other BI tools is a plus
* Ability to communicate effectively with team members to define requirements
* A shown ability to understand and organize data from various sources
* Knowledge of machine learning tools and concepts a plus
