Job Description: LGS Innovations, a leader in solving the most complex networking and communications challenges, is seeking a Lab Infrastructure Engineer-II, Telecommunications Studies for our Lisle, IL location.

In this position you will, under limited direction, provide engineering and laboratory infrastructure support for servers and virtual machines running multiple operating systems (Windows, Unix, Solaris, Linux) in a Telecommunications Laboratory environment.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Architect, install, configure, administer, and maintain Microsoft Windows Active Directory servers and hardware, and Microsoft Windows based PC workstations

Architect, install, configure, administer, and maintain enterprise class storage and data backup infrastructures

Architect, implement, administer and troubleshoot lab network infrastructure devices, such as switches, routers, and other support devices

Architect and administer VMware vCenter servers and ESXi host servers and client virtual machines

Architect and administer Solaris and Linux servers and virtual machines (Ubuntu, Centos, Red Hat, Debian, etc.)

Work with other team members to revise and build laboratory infrastructure systems

Evaluate, deploy and adapt existing products and tools to meet laboratory users' needs

Support software development processes

Additional Duties and Responsibilities:

Travel to other LGS Locations or Customer Sites as necessary

Understand and adhere to all LGS Ethical and Compliance policies

Proactively ensure a safe work environment and adhere to LGS EH&S policies and procedures

Perform other duties as required

Obtain/retain a government security clearance at the level needed to perform the job

Minimum Qualifications: Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in EE, CS, CE or related technical discipline and 2 - 4 years of related experience or equivalent combination of education, skills, and experience

Experience with managing/administering Microsoft Windows domains, including:

Active Directory

Microsoft Exchange

SCCM/WSUS

Strong oral and written communication skills

Ability to work under limited supervision and flexibility to adapt to change

Strong teamwork skills

Preferred Qualifications: N8:N9Preferred Qualifications/Skills:

Familiarity with server virtualization ( VMware)

Experience with Solaris system administration and familiarity with virtualization (Solaris Zones)

Experience with Linux system administration

Knowledge of IP networking and experience with configuration of related routers and switches

Experience with enterprise class backup/restore/disaster recovery systems, including:

Dell/EMC VNX storage

Dell/EMC Unity storage

Dell/EMC Networker

Dell/EMC Data Domain

There is no clearance requirement to begin employment. However, as a requirement of continued employment in this position you will be required to obtain a Secret clearance.
