Job Description

ASRC Federal Technical Services (ASTS) is responsible for managing the NASA Goddard Software Engineering Services II (SES II) contract. This includes the following software engineering capabilities: Systems Engineering, Ground Software, Flight Software, Flight System V&V, IT Development, Science System Development and Data Processing.

ASRC Federal is looking for a junior web developer with experience developing in PHP, MySQL, HTML, JavaScript, and jQuery to develop sophisticated web applications in support of IT security automation.

Job location is at Goddard's Space Flight Center in Greenbelt, Maryland

Key Responsibilities:

* Design, develop, maintain and support sophisticated web applications.
* Analyze, test, and resolve issues with application software.
* Adapt existing software to meet customer needs.

AFHCM

Basic Qualifications:

* Have worked for at least 1 year as a software developer and have a Bachelor's Degree in a related field or 3 years of additional experience.
* You have at least 1 year of software development experience working with either PHP or a combination of PHP and another development language like Java or C# and can produce logically-written and maintainable code.
* Have at least 1 year of experience working with MySQL or an SQL-based RDBMS, have an understanding of database terminology, and can write queries joining multiple tables.
* Have at least 1 year of experience in web development technologies to include PHP, Python/Django, HTML, JavaScript, jQuery and CSS.

Preferred Skills/Experience:

* Comfortable working in Linux and Windows environments.
* Good working knowledge of XML and web services and know how to use them.
* You have used AJAX in conjunction with jQuery.
* Understanding of Collaboration Software such as Confluence or JIRA
* Experience with SharePoint content/site migration.
* Experience with code versioning software such as OpenCVS, SVN or GIT.
* Knowledge of Section 508 compliance.
