We are currently seeking a Junior Systems Engineer to join our team. In this position, you will be responsible for the installation, maintenance and support of all infrastructure systems at IEC facilities and campus locations. The Senior Systems Engineer is required to develop and maintain all maintenance schedules, best practices and support processes for all campus technology. The position is responsible for maintaining uptime and availability for all campus infrastructure, employees and students. Ensure a standard and documented process for all communication systems configuration, backup plans and monitoring. This individual is responsible and accountable for the work output of team and the effective delegation of work to more junior staff. This individual exercises independent judgment in developing methods, techniques, and evaluation criterion for obtaining results.

Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities

* Perform required administration functions for all Campus technology.
* Serve as part of the project team on all technical areas associated with supported campus(s)
* Assume responsibility/accountability for delivering project assigned tasks
* Understand the project big picture and the impact of different areas on campus systems
* Mentor other team members on proper methodology, best practices, technology.
* Flexibly meet varying levels of expertise depending on the job
* Proactively seek to expand knowledge and supplement skills through appropriate use of books, manuals, and other self-study and point of need training
* Provide technical support for both hardware and software issues our users encounter Manage the configuration and operation of client-based computer operating systems Monitor the system daily and respond immediately to security or usability concerns
* Create and verify backups of devices
* Respond to and resolve Service requests
* Upgrade systems and processes as required for enhanced security, functionality and incident resolution
* Administrate campus infrastructure, including firewalls, databases, malware protection software and other processes as required
* Review applicable logs, vendor known bug reports and knowledge bases
* Install and test computer-related equipment
* Maintain up to date standard server, PC and laptop images
* Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

* 5+ years' experience with Microsoft Messaging with a focus on Exchange/O365, Skype for business/Teams


* Understanding and hands-on knowledge of installation, maintenance, security, configuration and troubleshooting of hardware and software for the IT infrastructure which includes development, production and disaster recovery environments.


* Demonstrate good technical, problem solving, communication and documentation skills


* Self-starter, flexible, dependable, and capable of multi-tasking and of quickly learning new products and technologies


* Understanding and hands-on knowledge of Layer 2 switching, routing, and network security


* Understanding and hands-on experience in web monitoring, appliance administration and management


* Understanding of Firewalls, IDS's and Network traffic analyzers


* Experience using Solarwinds NPM, SAM, Netflow


* Experience using WYSE Management Console


* Experience using Enterprise Malware Appliances and End Point Protection Services
