Now Hiring for a Junior Security Engineer:

As a Junior Security Engineer, you will be part of a team using cutting edge cloud and data technologies to power the mission of the DoD and deliver war-winning cyber and IT capabilities. An Interim DOD Clearance is required along with the ability to commute to various client sites throughout the DC metro area including Alexandria and the ability to obtain a CompTIA Security+ Certification.

* The ideal candidate will draw on previous information assurance exposure to assist with cloud system certification and accreditation activities.
* Evaluate certification documentation and provide written recommendations for accreditation to clients
* Perform risk assessments and make recommendations to customers
* Collaborate with members of the development team and project managers to deliver solutions that surpass client expectations
* Use knowledge of Active Directory, DNS, LAN/WAN, IP addresses, and administration to complete a variety of projects
* Utilize consulting and documentation skills to successfully complete project-based work
* Ability to work in a collaborative team environment while managing competing priorities and deadlines
* Possession of excellent oral and written communication skills
* Ability to write technical documentation on security topics for clients
* Research security standards, security systems and authentication protocols to provide customer recommendations
* Maintain a DoD Secret security clearance in order to gain access to client sites and networks
* Be open to commuting in and around the DC Metro area in order to be present at client sites for work
* Ability to guide cloud development for the security design using IA products
* Acquire a complete understanding of a customer's technology and information systems
* Knowledgeable of FISMA, NIST, RMF, C&A, continuous monitoring, vulnerability management, scanning, risk management, project management, proficient with Microsoft products - Word, Excel, PowerPoint

Profile of Success

* Utilize Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or Information Technology/Security
* Possess 1 - 2 years of experience in information technology and/or security to design platforms to support developers is ideal but a desire to learn may serve as a substitute for the right candidate.
* Technical or business knowledge of Information Assurance and Certification & Accreditation practices
* Experience with the development of RMF accreditation documentation
* Ability to perform information assurance verification, validation, and testing for Government accredited systems
* Experience with the RMF process to include processes associated with Authority to Operate (ATO) and POA&M documentation
* Knowledge of information assurance security policies and procedures ( CNSSI 1253, RMF, NIST 800-53 rev3/4, FEDRAMP, DISA SRG)
* Experience in an information assurance, systems analyst, or systems support role in a defense contracting or US government environment
* Use knowledge of servers, PC's, and networks to ensure the environment works correctly.
* The desire to gain or use extra-curricular certifications as part of ongoing professional growth.

Other Desirable Skills

* Current CompTIA Security+ Certification preferred or the ability to obtain CompTIA Security+ Certification within 30 days of employment required.
* Desire to obtain Microsoft certifications.
