Summary

The MIL Corporation seeks a System Administrator to support a Federal Government client at one of our Washington, DC locations. The System Administrator will work in a variety of roles depending on the daily requirements, and will serve as an escalation point between the Customer Support Center (CSC), Desktop Support teams and the Tier III Team.

Responsibilities

* Recognize and advise others, as well as identify and report trending issues to the correct Federal government lead
* Provide advance level trouble shooting of Incidents and Problems prior to escalation to upper level System Administrators regarding Win7 OS, Account Administration, VPN access, RSA token administration, custom applications
* Act as liaison between CSC and higher level support groups with the goal of increasing first contact resolutions, thereby, preventing escalation of Incidents and Requests the CSC can resolve
* Create technical documentation for distribution to users, CSC staff or other stakeholders
* Perform the role as Problem Manager, managing all problems created, ensuring they are up-to-date and ensuring the CSC stays up-to-date with workarounds and resolutions
* Utilize the ticketing system to update, resolve or escalate, Incidents, Requests or Problems in a timely manner based on Service Level Agreements (SLAs)

Required Qualifications

* HS/GED (BA/BS desired) and 2+ years of experience (6 years desired) providing system administration or Tier 2/3 help desk support -OR- combination of relevant education and experience
* Experience installing and configuring Windows based applications using a software distribution tool (i.e. SCCM)
* Knowledge of network monitoring and reporting tools (i.e. Solarwinds, SCCM, SCOM)
* In depth knowledge of standard IT systems and services to include Windows 7, Microsoft Office Suite 2010, proprietary/customized applications, VPN and RSA token administration and support, password recovery, etc.
* Very good knowledge of PC-based hardware, including desktop and laptop workstations (ability to configure and troubleshoot)
* Ability to prioritize workload and balance conflicting demands
* Ability to evaluate and implement new systems and technologies
* Ability to develop alternative solutions to solve technical problems
* Excellent verbal and written communication skills
* Ability to work independently with little or no supervision

Desired Qualifications

* MCP, MCSA, MCSE, MCITP:SA, or CCNA certifications
* Experience with software package deployment
* Experience managing Apple OSX enterprise environments
