Job Title: Jr. Frontend Web Developer

Location: Dumfries, VA

Description:

ALEX - Alternative Experts is now hiring a highly motivated Jr. Frontend Developer with strong creative problem solving skills for an opening in Dumfries, VA. The Web Developer will work directly with our artificial intelligence team to create aesthetically intuitive and dynamic web pages using JavaScript, html, css and D3.js for multiple clients, focusing on the interaction between server-side frameworks (such as Python & Java), the web framework, and database systems (such as MongoDB & Apache Cassandra). The selected candidate will also develop data visualizations and website components for our cutting-edge ALEX developed AI tools.

Required:

* US Citizenship and ability to meet and maintain secret level Security Clearance Sponsorship eligibility requirements. A higher clearance level may eventually be required.
* Demonstrated creativity in front-end web design
* Basic level of proficiency with Python
* Proficiency with web frameworks (such as Vue.js)
* Proficiency with JavaScript and libraries including jQuery
* An understanding of visualization techniques
* Ability to maintain a high-level of attention to detail
* Willingness to learn and be a part of a diverse team
* Experience using Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, & Outlook)
* Excellent written & verbal communication skills

Preferred:

* Proficiency with D3.js
* UI/UX design experience
* A working knowledge of SQL/NoSQL databases
* Experience with Linux (CentOS, RHEL)
* Understanding of APIs

Education:

* Bachelor's Degree in related field and front-end development experience
