Position Summary

The JetBlue Emerging Talent (JET) internship program provides skill & professional development through participation in the developing real-world business solutions that support the delivery of strategic business initiatives. Throughout the program, interns participate in a robust programming including professional development activities, cross-functional projects, senior leader exposure, networking, and community service. The JET Program provides interns the opportunity to immerse themselves into the aviation industry while developing specific career interest or areas of study.

The IT PED intern will analyze JetBlue's enterprise data to load data in real time and enable Business users to gain knowledge. This may include (Java coding) and load real time data between systems; or coding/applying machine learning algorithms; or creating visualization charts and graphs using Tibco - Spotfire.

Essential Responsibilities

* Communicate work completed and in progress challenges on projects delivery
* Work and collaborates with all Information Technology disciplines, to find solutions
* Analyze data to solve a business problem
* Setup domain data environments for analysis
* Works to achieve data related solutions with all issues
* Create detail documentation to ensure data asset is well documented
* Other duties as assigned

The selected intern will work in ONE of the areas specified below:

* Domain Data load &analysis -
* Data analysis in one of enterprise data domain
* Write queries based on business requirement and needs


* Advance Analytics analysis -
* Applying machine learning to create forecast models based to solve specific business problems
* Solve complex data problems using different ML algorithms


* Spotfire Report/Dashboard creation -
* Create enterprise visualization dashboards and reports
* Setup recurring Spotfire jobs to ensure data is report is accurate and available


* System Integration-
* Data mapping
* Write java code to automate data integration per specification



Minimum Experience and Qualifications

* Currently enrolled in or recently graduated from an accredited college or university in Computer Science, Engineering, Economics, Statistical Analysis, Operational Research related field
* Solid experience using excel to manipulate data
* Available for occasional overnight travel
* In possession of valid travel documents with the ability to travel in and out of the United States
* Must pass a ten (10) year background check and pre-employment drug test
* Must be legally eligible to work in the country in which the position is located

Preferred Experience and Qualifications

* Knowledge of Java and T-SQL or know how to write data query languages.
* Experience using visualization tool to present data for comparison or debate
* Experience implementing algorithms in support of data solutions
* Knowledge of relational database
* Knowledge of cloud environment like Azure
* Knowledge of big data concepts
* On the job experience using data visualization tools like Tableau, Spotfire, MS PowerBI, Business Objects, SSRS or related tools
* Apply statistical models for forecasting
* Write computer programs to create automated solutions

Crewmember Expectations:

* Regular attendance and punctuality
* Potential need to work flexible hours and be available to respond on short-notice
* Well-groomed and able to maintain a professional appearance
* When working or traveling on JetBlue flights, and if time permits, all capable crewmembers are asked to assist with light cleaning of the aircraft

* Promote JetBlue's #1 value of safety as a Safety Ambassador, supporting JetBlue's Safety Management System (SMS) components, Safety Policy and behavioral standards
* Identify safety and/or security concerns, issues, incidents or hazards that should be reported and report them whenever possible and by any means necessary including JetBlue's confidential reporting systems (Aviation Safety Action Program (ASAP) or Safety Action Report(SAR))
