This position is open under the Technology & Innovation Roadmap Team, which is a part of the Strategic Architecture department. The charter of the team is to foster technology adoption and enable innovation. The team responsibilities include Technology governance for vendor/technologies used across SWIFT, Vendor management for key software and hardware vendors and fostering Innovation and rapid prototyping.

The team is responsible for all aspects of Vendor management and the contract lifecycle, this includes researching the technology landscape, negotiating and managing complex vendor contracts and managing the vendor relationship at a Executive levels . Vendor Technologies managed by the team include: Cloud, Containers/Docker, API platform/gateway, Databases: Big-Data, No-SQL, RDBMS, SQL, PKI, HSM, Linux OS, Messaging, Application/Web Servers, Middleware etc.

The team is located in US and is looking for a dynamic, experienced vendor manager with excellent communication and interpersonal skills, strong analytics and problem-solving skills complemented with a sound awareness of related technical and the IT delivery cycle . The person should have the ability to multi-task while also have a good attention to detail.

Responsibilities

The person can thrive in this environment if they are adept at working with internal and external people, across various disciplines and can engage and hold technical and business level discussions. The person should be able to see the larger picture, help communicate it, connect and help others connect the dots, especially when it comes to taking decisions and helping drive and support decisions.

In this exciting role, you will :

* Manage vendor relationships with the goal of driving technology adoption and usage while managing costs


* Responsible for vendor related communication and be a functional bridge between internal teams and the vendor, help Senior management and their teams meet their strategic and tactical objectives in their use of the vendor technologies, promoting of vendor products, roadmaps and events. Managing problem escalation, vendor agreements, purchases and reporting.


* Evaluate and recommend potential new vendors using the criteria established in the company.


* Lead and negotiate vendor agreements/contracts in collaboration with the Marketing, Legal, Procurement and IT teams to delivery teams that meet SWIFT objectives and are beneficial to both SWIFT and the vendors.


* Manage and oversee the vendor relationship, contracts and delivery of services. Monitor and analyze costs, performance, identify and manage risks and escalate potential issues to SWIFT.


* Manage overall vendor performance - including acting as an escalation point in event of non-performance.


* Effective documentation and communication of potentially high impact issues to Senior Management as necessary and work towards timely and effective resolution of vendor issues.


* Adhere to corporate standards concerning conflicts of interest, due-diligence, risk management, vendor and management communication, interactions with peers, superiors and with the team.


* From time to time contribute to the larger activities of the team, such as technology governance, technology investigations and innovation.

Qualifications

* Bachelor's degree or above in related IT and/or business fields preferred; relevant work experience will be considered in lieu of degree
* 10+ years of vendor management/relationship experience in IT/Technology related fields, working with technology vendors and interacting with IT teams.
* Experience working in various technology areas such as Operating Systems, Databases, Messaging/Middleware, API platform, Cloud; relevant experience in other related technology areas will be considered.
* Full proficiency with Microsoft Office (Powerpoint, Excel, Work, Outlook) and Sharepoint, MS Project
* Prior development or technical experience is preferred.
* Extensive knowledge and experience with building vendor relationships, contract negotiations and management, budget management, best practices for demand forecasting and evaluating vendor performance/metrics


* Energetic self-starter with initiative and creative approach to problem solving


* Strong analytical, research, problem solving, decision making skills


* Ability to balance strategic thinking and attention to detail


* Ability to juggle multiple tasks under pressure in a fast-paced environment


* Proven success in managing complex vendor relationships and effective negotiation skills applying various strategies and techniques


* Superior communication, interpersonal skills with all levels of internal and external audiences


* Effectively handle multiple, concurrent projects requiring judgment and initiative


* Ability and willingness to work with purpose and strong sense of urgency


* Ability for limited travel, 10%
