Description

Position Summary. The Application Developer will be responsible for the technical design, development and maintenance of Avendra's .NET based applications.

The application developer will work with a team made of developers, business analysts and off-shore consultants to provide support for a portfolio of existing applications as well as build new standalone applications and integrations with external services. This position requires an individual who can work within a team setting as well as individually work with business users on smaller projects. Great verbal and written communication skills are a must.

Position Reports to Manager, Application Development for Microsoft and Java Systems

Primary Responsibilities

* Application Development
* Provide work estimates based on requirements, direction and constraints set by team lead
* Build scalable, extensible, cost-effective solutions built on the Microsoft .NET framework. Development will require extensive SQL Server programming.
* Unit test of all new enhancements and defect fixes


* Application Support
* Provide support during work and off hours (emergencies). This will be in form of defect fixes, back-end data modifications and emergency support
* Manage and support scheduled jobs pertaining to day-to-day business applications
* Identifying issues and effectively addressing them to resolution
* Collaborate with off-shore developers
* Consistently configure environments, maintain code repositories, maintain accurate enhancement and defect tracking status in corporate ticket tracking system, etc.



Secondary Responsibilities

* Collaborate with Business Analysis team as needed to help elicit or review business requirements
* Client Interface: Work directly with business sponsors and users as need to
* Determine business needs and make recommendations and work with team lead or Business Analysis group to recommend next steps
* Determine and resolve root cause of defects
