The IT Senior Enterprise Desktop Administrator may lead or complete work on major, complex projects with full competency. Has the ability to work in a high paced environment to provide administrative and technical support for a large, enterprise desktop environment. May be asked to lead teams of other Desktop Administrators and acts as a mentor for other team members. Tasks will be focused on advanced design, implementation, ongoing maintenance, performance, and security of Windows desktop and MAC based systems. Exhibits exceptional oral and written communication skills necessary to communicate (technically and non-technically) with other team members; other technology services staff, customers, vendors, partners and leadership; Ensure cross-functional successful and cooperative completion of tasks and projects and to resolve problems in a timely manner. Demonstrates advanced ability to resolve complex problems effectively and efficiently required to ensure minimal disruptions and unplanned down times of assigned systems. Independently manage computing infrastructure including servers, data storage, and supporting infrastructure.
Requirements
7 years minimum experience in an enterprise desktop environment with both administration and problem resolution of Microsoft Windows desktop or MAC OS required. 5 years experience working with imaging systems such as ghost, LANDesk, or SCCM. DHCP/DNS/WINS/Active Directory management expertise required. Excellent knowledge of TCP/IP and other protocols including use of troubleshooting tools - scripting, resource kit diagnostic. Candidate MUST have strong, demonstrable skills in one or more of the following desktop components: Group Policy Administration, Desktop encryption, desktop antivirus, patching strategies and processes, desktop security compliance and remediation required.
Bachelors degree required or demonstrated expert level experience working with CareFusion, Epic, VPSX, Jaco, Wyse Terminals, Citrix, Dragon, WiFi troubleshooting, AirWatch, IT Customer Service, A/V support or ServiceNow in lieu of degree.
Master's Degree preferred.
Microsoft Specialist for Windows7 Configuring Devices and Planning for and Managing Devices in the Enterprise within 12 months of being in role or equivalent certification required.
Microsoft Technology Associate for Windows Devices and Mobility Fundamentals within 12 months of being in role or equivalent certification required.
Two or more Microsoft or equivalent network certifications preferred.
Ability to independently plan, organize and document complex system design activities and to configure systems to be consistent with institutional policies/procedures; Must be able to clearly and timely communicate technical/complex information both verbally and in writing; Ability to establish and maintain cross-functional cooperation, understanding, trust and credibility; Willing and competent in performing multiple tasks concurrently and responding to emergency situations effectively.
