We are looking for a highly experienced, Lead Software Developer for the Asset Management divisional IT team. The hire will be working on both critical enhancements to the existing Investment and Operational tools in order to assist the business in identifying new Alpha generation opportunities as well as insuring the components of the operational platform are as efficient as possible. This individual will be interacting with key business Stake holders to help define and drive change. He/She will work in small team of similarly experienced Software Developers

Responsibilities

You will be working for Group Technology out of our Chicago, IL office. You will report into the Portfolio Management & Trading - Hedge Fund Solutions (HFS) Technology Lead

List of Responsibilities:

* Develop functionality: from spec review and coding to unit testing and deployment
* Support QA team and Business
* Estimat features and CRs
* Apply modern engineering practices to:
* Write clean code
* Cover own code with tests
* Perform code reviews
* Participate in backlog refinement, planning and demos
* Clarify the requirements with stakeholders
* Participate in solution architecture design and implementation

Skills

Must The candidate must be a seasoned full stack developer and have experience designing, implementing and delivering into production complete solutions. Experience in Financial Technology is required and may include areas of Portfolio Management, Accounting, Risk Management, Data Analysis, and Client Reporting solutions

You have:

* four year bachelors degree or the international equivalent in computer science , math, engineering, physics or MIS related degree
* 5 - 10+ years application development experience within a financial services organization and experience working with a team of delivery-focused engineers
* practical experience with Linux, UNIX and Windows desktop environments
* relational databases, preferably Sybase, MS SQL, or Oracle
* programming languages: Java, JavaScript, Python, Perl, SQL, Shell Scripting
* practical experience with Source code control systems and release management techniques
* the ability to work with both Front and Middle Office business staff to define requirements and build plans to deliver solutions
* worked in an Asset Management Fund environment
* worked with Web technologies such as Tomcat, HTML5, JSP, Angular or React
