Job Summary

The Information Systems Security Engineer helps to safeguard Seattle Goodwill's computer networks and systems by planning and carrying out security measures to monitor and protect sensitive data and systems from infiltration and cyber-attacks. This role is responsible for the design and maintenance of systems security of all Seattle Goodwill wired and wireless local area network (LAN)/wide area network (WAN), firewalls, cloud services, network infrastructure, and telecommunications related to Goodwill's needs.

Essential Functions:

Engineer, implement and monitor security measures for protections of computer systems, networks and information.

Identify and define system security requirements.

Design system security architecture and develop detailed security designs; test and implement protections.

Prepare and document standard operating procedures and protocols.

Configure and troubleshoot security infrastructure devices.

Develop technical solutions and new security tools to help mitigate security vulnerabilities.

Create, oversee and test security measures and procedures (ex. Incident response, business continuance, disaster recovery).

Investigate security breaches and lead response activities to minimize impact; prepare report of findings to management.

Communicate with users when needed.

Responsible for periodic vulnerability testing, and lead remediation projects.

Develop and maintain Information Security and compliance plans and policies.

Perform annual Payment Card Industry (PCI) Self-Assessment Questionnaire (SAQ) vulnerability process.

Perform penetration testing of Seattle Goodwill computing networks and systems, risk assessment, business impact.

Demonstrate safe work practices through awareness and observation in support of a safety culture; report any potential hazards or accidents.

Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Minimum Job Requirements

Education: BSc/BA in Computer Science, Engineering or related field.

Certification in the security field (ex. Certified Information Systems Security Professional CISSP, Certified Secure Software Lifecycle Professional CSSLP, Certified Authorization Professional CAP, Certified Cloud Security Professional CCSP, Systems Security Certified Practitioner SSCP).

Experience: Minimum 5 years relevant experience in network engineering/network security administration.

Specific Skills/Knowledge: Cisco Nexus OS/IOS platforms, SonicOS, Juniper EX/XR, Cisco Meraki Firewalls, Cisco Meraki MR WAPS, Alien Vault SIEM.

Hands on experience in security systems, concluding firewalls, IDS/IPS, multifactor authentication systems, log management, CFS etc.

Understanding of common protocols and related security, HTTP/S, TLS, FTP/S, SFTP, SCP, DNS, Kerberos.

Experience with scripting languages and automation tools (e.g. Python, PowerShell).

Sharp troubleshooting skills.

Ability to work as a team member and independently.

Problem solving skills and ability to work under pressure.

Understanding PCI requirements.

Essential Physical Abilities:

Lifting and carrying 30-50 pounds; to reach above head level, developed fine motor control (grasp, handle, manipulate objects with fingers; standing for long periods of time; frequent bending, kneeling, reaching, stooping, squatting, pushing; climbing ladders; able to travel across a variety of surfaces (stairs, ramps, uneven terrain).

Working Conditions:
