Job Description

The IT Project Manager (PM) will plan and manage technology-related initiatives and ensure they are aligned with the strategic objectives of the organization. The IT PM will manage all phases of the project including planning, analysis and design, configuration and build, testing and training, deployment of solutions and project close-out. The IT PM will be accountable for all aspects of project management including all project resources, project planning, scheduling, risk management, scope management, communications, status reporting and resource management.

This person will work directly with technical resources and business owners to identify project requirements and create a project road map and will communicate project status updates to key stakeholders. The IT Project Manager will also assist in measuring and reporting on the performance of all technology-related projects to the IT Steering Committee and Senior Management.

This person will serve as a critical link between the technical implementation team and key individuals involved with a project to ensure its timely completion.

Primary duties:

* Facilitate all of the project lifecycle activities for technology-related projects.
* Define project scope, deliverables, roles and responsibilities, timelines, project schedule and resources in collaboration with stakeholders and business partners
* Manage scope, cost, timeline and resources throughout the life of the project.
* Ability to work with the business analyst and business stakeholders to gather business requirements and perform business analysis.
* Contribute to business case analysis, cost-benefit assessment and vendor selection for technology-related initiatives.
* Evaluate technological choices by collecting vendor information and understanding the long term implications to the organization
* Assign and monitor work of technical personnel, ensuring that project tasks are in alignment with business objectives, on time and within budget.
* Communicate effectively between stakeholders and various team members to manage expectations and to provide timely updates on project progress
* Identify, track and manage issues, risks and action items by direct action or escalation to appropriate level; update the appropriate stakeholders as needed.
* Exercise authority for planning, directing, coordinating and executing routine and complex projects
* Resolve conflict by demonstrating leadership and appropriate decision-making competencies
* Provide senior management with timely project status updates which address issues, risk, pending decisions and action items for each project

Requirements:

* Bachelor's degree in Technology related field or Business field
* Minimum 4 years of Technology related project management experience
* PMP Certification preferred
* Office 365 upgrade and Windows 10 upgrade experience preferred; some Banking knowledge helpful.
* Ability to independently manage the operational aspects of ongoing projects and serve as liaison between the IT team and the project team/stakeholders
* Ability to communicate complex technical and business process information cross functionally in a clear and comprehensive manner
* Ability to quickly identify and drive to the optimal solution when presented with challenges, constraints or less than complete information
* Ability to drive to big picture goals and milestones while valuing and maintaining a strong attention to detail
* Capable of developing streamlined processes that deliver quick, effective results
* Strong analytical and research, planning and organizational skills
* Strong oral and written communication skill with the ability to communicate professionally, articulately and diplomatically in a corporate environment
* Demonstrated ability to use sound judgment, utilize critical thinking skills and make decisions in a consistent manner
* Goal oriented; strong sense of personal responsibility and accountability for delivering quality results.
* Must be self-motivated and self-disciplined; must display initiative and be highly productive with little oversight.
* Strong cross functional collaboration skills and relationship building skills; thoughtful in word and in action.
* Strong knowledge of both theoretical and practical aspects of project management
* Thorough knowledge of MS Office, MS Project, Visio, and software development lifecycle best practices

Position will initially be based in downtown Chicago, but will move to Schaumburg in the summer of 2019.
