Job Summary

The IT Project Manager contributes to Seattle Goodwill's success by managing medium to large scale interdepartmental IT projects utilizing Project Management Institute (PMI) principles. Track project expenses and budget to provide solutions to potential overruns. Analyze business and operating procedures to devise the most efficient methods of accomplishing the work. Coordinates and works with all levels of staff to research, plan and implement new technology methods.

Essential Functions:

Lead, plan, execute and close projects across all departments within the organization.

Determine the critical tasks, milestones, issues, risks and mitigation plans, for successful deployment of all projects.

Build and maintain standardized project plans and provide project reporting (status updates, budget tracking, issue reporting, and change control) to all stakeholders in a timely and consistent manner.

Effectively communicate project expectations to team members and stakeholders in a clear and timely manner.

Proactively manage changes in project scope, identify potential crises, and prepare contingency plans as necessary.

Define project success criteria with involved stakeholders throughout project life cycle.

Address vendor-related issues regarding billing, timelines and quality delivery.

Evaluate technological processes and operations and recommend improvements to increase operating efficiencies.

Development, creation and implementation of operational procedures related to technology.

Effectively close projects ensuring that all project work and documentation is complete and that all project work has been successfully transitioned.

Support implementation strategies by educating and training staff regarding process changes.

Participate in other projects as requested.

Identify optimization opportunities.

Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Minimum Job Requirements

Education: BA/BS in related field. Relevant experience may be substituted for education.

Experience: 3+ years direct medium to large scale systems project management experience.

Experience managing projects for business process improvement, establishing and implementing best practices.

Experience with Agile/Scrum, Waterfall, and SDLC.

PMP (Project Management Professional) certification preferred.

Knowledge of payroll, time and attendance, and HR management systems is a plus.

Specific Skills/Knowledge/Licenses: Proficient with MS Project and Microsoft Office suite. Knowledgeable in technology process and procedure utilizing industry best practices. Ability to prioritize and plan effectively. Work effectively in a team setting and collaborate with others. Manage stakeholder expectations including ability to partner on prioritizations. Strong analytical and problem solving skills to address business challenges and determine suitable IT solutions. Demonstrated understanding of project management process and project life cycle.

Essential Physical Abilities:

Must be able to lift, and carry for short distances up to 50 lbs. Must be able to perform repetitive fine motor functions with fingers, wrists and arms, without pain or loss of function. Able to travel across a wide variety of surfaces including, but not limited to, ramps, stairs, and uneven terrain. Able to use a standard telephone and wireless audio communication system; sit or stand for moderately long periods of time.

Working Conditions:

This job will require time away from this position's work site. These environments are susceptible to dust and seasonal temperature variations. Travel responsibilities will include visiting store locations, attending offsite meetings and events. Must be able to travel independently to all Seattle Goodwill locations on short notice.
