IT Project Manager

Job Description

We're looking for a 3+ month contract technical project manager consultant with experience using agile and waterfall methodologies to facilitate and improve delivery of projects that impact the entire organization. In this role you will help establish roadmaps and project plans for top priorities; many of the projects that we take on have hard deadlines and complex dependency chains.

You will be managing projects such as:

Automating the forensic/archival imaging of decommissioned laptops

Determining the order of operations and schedule for moving applications into Okta

Rolling out a new phone system to our call centers

Improving the automation and flow of our onboarding and offboarding processes

Responsibilities:

Establishing program plans and schedules with cross functional teams to make sure all impacted stakeholders have an understanding of the project

Define success metrics, collaborate with multiple departments, communicate issues to executives, and managing the reporting process

Define strategy, objectives, project scope, and business requirements for various projects.

Manage variance and exception projects: track progress, audits, gates, testing, and communicate status/dependencies/risks across multiple teams.

Track Schedules and Project timelines as they relate to IT work.

Proactively identify and mitigate risks associated with meeting milestones.

Qualifications:

5+ years of project management experience in the information technology field

Extremely strong organizational skills and the ability and interest to help others organize their work

A proactive mindset and excellent communication skills, both verbally and in writing

Ability to communicate clearly and effectively, both verbally and in writing

Courage to honestly and accurately report the status of projects

Must be local to San Francisco (commutable distance to SoMa neighborhood)

A plus to have:

Start-up/entrepreneurial experience

Experience working in IT in a heavily cloud-based environment (Google Apps, JIRA, Confluence)

Experience managing cross-functional teams

Ability to travel periodically
