Job Announcement: IT Project Manager

United Way of King County is a recognized leader in solving the community's toughest challenges and we're looking for an IT Project Manager to join our IT Operations team. This position is responsible for managing the planning and implementation of IT and organization-wide projects and supports improvements and change across business processes, teams and technologies. The IT Project Manager provides project direction and ensures projects are delivered within scope, on budget and in a timely manner. This position uses well-developed judgment to understand the business environment and shares customer perspective with the project team. Projects vary in scale, ranging from managing a fairly routine application selection to managing complex, large scale, operational changes involving multiple, interconnected applications and processes and several departments. This position provides coaching and mentoring in project management across the organization, and supports the IT Team by contributing to the IT Project Portfolio.

Essential duties:

* Provides option analysis and decision-making frameworks for project-related choices and risk mitigation.
* Provides tactical and team leadership throughout project lifecycle.
* Develops all project deliverables such as charter, requirements, detailed design, test plan, etc.
* Applies internal and external project management best practices in support of quality, consistency, and effectiveness (e.g. PMI, Agile, Waterfall, etc.).
* Successfully establishes, manages, and maintains relationships with project team members.
* Manages the IT project request process including a clear, well-communicated path for staff to request projects and stay informed of their status.
* Estimates IT project capacity; identifies available project data, resources, and budget; understands organization's business goals and objectives; analyzes information and aligns project portfolio to capacity, resources, and business drivers.
* Designs, develops, and delivers classroom and online training resulting from new application acquisition and/or development until handing off training to responsible department.
* Performs other duties as assigned.

Core Competencies:

* Proven experience in formal project management and change management methodologies (Agile, Waterfall, etc.) for successful project delivery across the full project lifecycle, including estimating effort and managing scope, requirements, quality, time, risks and communications.
* Understands the business benefits of the project and the linkage between project/program goals and organizational strategy and drivers.
* Demonstrated ability to perform business system analysis.
* Intermediate knowledge of organization and processes, information systems, and computer software applications.
* Demonstrated ability to adapt to constantly changing circumstances and needs.
* Proven collaboration and relationship-building skills by seeking the opinion of others to reach creative solutions and to work effectively with a diverse customer base.
* Strong verbal and written communication skills and excellent presentation skills; adept in communication techniques, channels, and applications.
* Fluent in decision and concept framing techniques.
* Demonstrated ability to perform basic data analysis, database queries, and reporting.
* Demonstrated ability to create and deliver technical classroom training curriculum to adults with varied styles of learning and varied levels of experience with technology.
* Demonstrated ability to create easily understood and followed end-user documentation.

Education and/or Experience:

Bachelor's degree, or equivalent, in business administration, data/project management or related field. At least 5 years' experience working in project management required. Business analysis background is highly desirable. Project Management Professional (PMP) certification a plus. Non-profit work, Agile Project Management, Dynamics CRM, Microsoft SharePoint, Microsoft Power Platform, and Azure DevOps or other work management software background preferred.

The annual recruitment range is $ 72,500 to $ 77,000, depending on successful experience and prior accomplishments. Don't hesitate, please apply here now.
