Overview

The IT Portfolio Manager will be responsible for the creation, maintenance and development of the IT portfolio management process within Hackensack Meridian Health (HMH). This includes developing project management methodology and templates, creation and tracking of project performance metrics, reporting performance of projects against financial, resource and timing goals and engaging with stakeholders including sponsors and other participants in the IT governance processes.

Responsibilities Working closely with the IT governance process, align the prioritization process for IT projects with the HMH's short- and long-term strategic objectives and identify, review and quantify variances and risks, complete any required corrective actions, and communicate to all stakeholders regarding such variances and risks. Assist program managers in areas including scope, schedule, cost, risk, resources, and quality. Develop and implement portfolio management's best practices in order to improve efficiency in project execution and portfolio reporting within all programs. Develop portfolio and program plans, enabling the planning and tracking of project milestones and deliverables. Standardize program communications and deliverables such as program and project charters, issue logs, risk management and implementation plans. Develop and report on metrics designed to ensure that projects are aligned with project financials, estimates and resource needs and that portfolio is aligned with strategy objectives. Maintains and generates all status reports related to the portfolio including all program relevant budget, schedule, and resource information. Create a collaborative partnership among executive leaders and portfolio stakeholders that enables resource demand planning, change management, and project pipeline planning decisions. Assists other groups within IT on matters such as budgeting, strategic planning and IT governance.

Qualifications BS degree in computer science, business, management information systems, or related field. Minimum of 5 years of proven portfolio management and information technology project management (project intake, resource demand planning, budget management). Experience in facilitation of meetings related to portfolio governance, project reviews, decision-making, and other project related topics. Subject Matter Expertise in Project Management Office, SDLC and governance best practices. Experience in Software Development projects with use of tools such as JIRA and Confluence. Experience with Agile and Scrum methodologies. Working experience with roadmaps and deployments of production applications, including in-house applications and third-party SaaS applications. Strong communication and presentation skills (oral and written) to shape messages to the appropriate level of audience. Advanced skills preparing and presenting Power Point presentations. Ability to understand complex business flows. Strong project management skills.
