Manages the company's firewalls and intrusion detection systems. Develops, tests, and operates firewalls, intrusion detection systems, enterprise anti-virus systems and software deployment tools. Safeguards the network against unauthorized infiltration, modification, destruction or disclosure. May research, evaluate, test, recommends communicate and implement new security software or devices. Implements, enforces, communicates and develops security policies or plans for data, software applications, hardware, and telecommunications. Provides information to management regarding the negative impact caused by theft, destruction, alteration or denial of access to information. Provides recommendations on information assurance engineering standards, implementation dependencies, and changing information assurance related technologies. Provides recommendations on information assurance engineering standards, implementation dependencies, and changing information assurance related technologies. Supervises lesser-experienced information security professionals. Prepares evaluation reports. Recommends remedial action. Requires Bachelor's degree or equivalent and five to seven years related experience.

ManTech is currently seeking an IT Engineer to support our operations in San Diego, CA.

Position Overview:

Works from specifications to develop or modify complex software programs to enhance an operating system. May give some direction and guidance to less experienced software systems engineers. Investigates and resolves operational problems in conjunction with other engineering and technical personnel. Develops logic, codes, tests and debugs software packages. Modifies, tests, and debugs retail utilities. Packages and engineers releases to integrate with the company's operating systems.Develops and modifies complex software, such as routines supporting multiprogramming, telecommunications and file management. Patches research & test, Troubleshooting, SW Upgrade support, maintaining a R&DTE environment, vApp development, and Technical Documentation.Requires Bachelors degree (in Computer Science or related field) or equivalent, and five to seven years of related experience.

Requirements:

Microsoft Windows operating systems including Windows 7 & 10, Server 2008 & 12, WSUS, SQL Server Must be independent and able to function with minimal supervision High caliber oral, written, and briefing skills. Eligible to obtain and maintain a DoD security clearance. Proficiency with Microsoft Office.Security +, OS Certification in Windows, Linux, or VMware
