The Application Architect will provide expertise, direction, and assistance regarding application design, solutions and architectural consulting to technical analysts, application engineers, senior database analysts, and other systems architects. The person in this position will be responsible for leading the design, architecture and development of the systems that manage the inventory of IT technology assets within Verizon, including areas such as Hardware lifecycle management, Configuration Managements Systems in a Service Management solution, Software Asset Management tools and functions, and IT Internal Application and portfolio management. The ideal candidate has high technical understanding of IT asset life cycles and experience with the leading asset management tools. They also have professional training and experience on IT architectural principlesand methodologies. This person will also be proficient in various IT development tools and database solutions, and will have actual systems development skills and experience.
Responsibilities...
Hands-on experience with a major IT Asset Management packages or solutions.
Hands-on experience with configuration scanning processes and technical challenges.
Familiarity with tools that standardize hardware and software configuration information against a master catalog of products
Strong background in software development tools and methodologies
Drive proof of concepts to determine optimum IT solutions to the various Asset Management processes.
Clear understanding of public cloud Integration and challenges related to software scanning
Strong understanding with the role a major configuration management system (CMS/uCMDB) plays in the asset management functions.
Expertise in development and driving initiatives in alignmentwith a Enterprise Data Modeling approach.
Develop architectural diagrams and solutions for executive presentations
Work closely with systems leads for the supporting tools
Identify and pursue process improvements, automation, and application integration opportunities.
What we're looking for...
You'll need to have:
* Bachelor's degree or four or more years of work experience.
* Six or more years of relevant work experience.
Even better of you have:
Relevant work experience in IT Architectures, which a track record demonstrating experience with Asset Management tools and systems
Hands-on experience with the MicroFocus Asset Manager and Flexera Technopedia and Normalize products.
Working knowledge of MicroFocus configuration management database (CMDB) product
Familiarity with asset management solutions in public cloud environments.
Agile SDLC methodologies
Strong team player who's able to also work independently; ability to take initiative.
Strong verbal and written communication skills
Certifications in ITIL concepts and practices
