Position Overview: Molex is seeking a IT Application Admin

Essential Functions:

* Installs defined configurations for new and upgraded software applications for the windows application environment. Planning activities that involve the maintenance and the application configuration on the servers.
* Assists management and senior level administrators in deploying system standards and analyzing user and application requirements. Researches systems standards at the direction of senior staff.
* Completes defined Microsoft systems audits for compliance with standards, security and interoperability. Assigns application access, security, and profiles as directed.
* Monitors, evaluates, and reports on the overall system performance. Identifies errors and conducts tests to isolate problems. Troubleshoots malfunctions on hardware and software to keep new and existing systems operational. May prepare reports on system performance.
* Serves as a technical resource to other IS groups, outside providers, and international regions.
* Participates in the testing of business continuity and disaster recovery plans for Windows applications.
* Responds to help desk trouble tickets in relation to Windows applications. Ensures tickets are being responded to in accordance with the prescribed service levels set by management. Works with external vendor trouble ticket systems. Uses and promotes the use of the Molex change management system.
* Adheres to the Molex Change Management policies
* Understands, supports and enforces the Molex IT security policy, as directed by management, to promote a secure computing environment at Molex.
* Performs other related duties as assigned by management

Position Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

* Bachelors degree in a computer related field or equivalent experience as determined by management.
* 3 years experience supporting windows applications

Preferred Qualifications:

* Knowledge on JBoss, Tomcat or similar Java application
* Understanding of several computer concepts such as networking database (MS SQL, MySQL) and operating systems (Windows Server)

Skills & Abilities:

* Under the general direction of management and senior level administrators, performing installation, auditing, and day-to-day maintenance activities related to applications on the Microsoft Windows operating systems.
