Profusa is developing fluorescence-based optical wearable sensors for real-time monitoring of analytes within the human body. The wearable optical device has a sensing device communicating wirelessly with a GUI platform. We seek an experienced software engineer with iOS and Android platforms with BLE (Bluetooth low power) development skills to lead the software development for these devices.
MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
* Given product requirements, develop a software development plan, software requirements specifications, use-error risk analysis, unit test protocols and unit test reports for IEC62304-compliant medical device products. * Work closely with firmware and systems engineers to establish a Bluetooth wireless connection between device and user interface platform. * Develop system performance characterization tools to determine compliance with software requirements. * Create software architecture documents, software design documents and all necessary documentation in accordance with good manufacturing practices. * Iteratively develop the product by implementing important features first and integrate the rest of the system according to AGILE development process.
* M.S. in Computer Science, Biomedical, Electrical Engineering, or equivalent. B.S. with > 10 years' experience will also be considered.
* Minimum of 10 years' experience in developing cross-platform applications for scientific and/or medical use * At least 2 years' experience in UX, building user experience applications and user interfaces. * Experience with Bluetooth wireless system with a commercial track record is necessary. * Experience in writing PC-based wireless applications using C++ is desirable for rapid iteration. * Experience in writing iOS applications and coding using applicable tools and languages (such as Objective C), with a minimum of 2 commercialized products in portfolio. * Must have worked in an FDA-regulated environment and familiar with QSR's. * Excellent written, verbal and presentation communication skills * Experience in developing applications on Android platforms is desirable.
Company is currently located in South San Francisco and will be moving to Emeryville by August 2019. Candidate must be comfortable commuting to both locations without challenges.
