Job Description

The best integrated design firm in the world has an opening for an experienced Intermediate Designer in our Higher Education studio.

Locations:

* San Francisco, CA

As an Intermediate Designer at DLR Group you will be responsible for leading and implementing DLR Groups Design Fundamentals for large Higher Education projects. In addition, you will coordinate with all project team members to produce quality conceptual designs and the graphic representation of those designs. As a member of an integrated design teams you will assist in creating buildings that elevate the human experience through design.

Position Summary

You will be responsible for producing profitable and executable designs, with assistance from the Regional Sector Leader, Project Manager and Project Architect. As a Higher Education team member, you will assist with all aspects of the project design and document development and coordinating with all project team members to produce quality design work product while adhering to project schedules and budgets.

The successful candidate will:

* Identify and proposes creative, innovative solutions to design challenges.
* Lead the design direction and conceptual development of project documents.
* Assist in elevating design in the studio and San Francisco office with the knowledge of design techniques, tools, and principles.
* Collaborate with the Higher Education studio in the strategic pursuit, proposal, presentation, and development of sector work.
* Produce accurate documents aligned with firm standards for project assignments.
* Apply practice standards to project assignments.
* Communicate with the Regional Sector Leader and Project Managers on the progress of design assignments according to the established project schedule and workplan.
* Ensure design information is incorporated into project documents and carried through construction.

Required Qualifications:

* Bachelors Degree in Architecture or Design.
* At least 7 years of experience designing Higher Education buildings, and environments.
* Proficient in the use of 3D computer modeling and rendering software such as REVIT and/or SketchUp. Rhino highly desired.
* The ability to travel occasionally to support national and/or regional project tasks.

Preferred Qualifications:

* Professional Bachelors Degree or Masters of Architecture Degree.
* Professional License.
* Demonstrated knowledge of SketchUp, Enscape, Lumion, and/or V-Ray.
* Experience and interest in sustainable building design.
