SUMMARY

Reporting to the Director, ICR Automation NA the incumbent in this position will be responsible for the overall solution development using ICR technology at Livingston. In this role, the manager will be responsible for the overall strategic planning using ICR technology, including; developing business requirements jointly with operations, coordinating enhancement development, production deployment and testing, change management, vendor upgrades, system configuration and administration, and contract management.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

* Plan, direct and manage the overall strategic planning for using ICR technology in conjunction with company policies and procedures.
* Provide technical direction and stay abreast of technology enhancements as it relates to the ICR.
* Work with brokerage operations to develop business requirements and improve efficiency utilizing technology
* Coordinate with internal and external IT groups on the successful development, UAT testing, and deployment of new and enhanced features for ICR system to meet business needs.
* Monitor key performance indicators on a daily, weekly, monthly and yearly basis.
* Develop and maintain ICR architecture, as well as detailed process flows.
* Establish, implement and maintain an ICR release process and plan (which will include Vendor upgrades).
* Responsible for ICR system(s) configuration and administration.
* Lead and follow change management best practices for regulatory, process and solution changes (including coordination with Vendor "black box" changes).
* Represent ICR group from an IT security perspective, ensuring group and solution(s) follows IT security policy and procedures.
* Provide continuous coaching and training to the ICR group staff to ensure they are effective in the administration and optimization of the system.
* Responsible for the comprehensive human resources management of all group staff (e.g. team building, training, development, succession planning). Oversees the hiring, terminations, performance reviews, manpower planning for the group.
* Conduct honest and fair performance assessments of all direct reports at least once a year.
* Initiates and administers group budget.
* Ensure that all correspondence complies with all applicable laws and regulations and company policies.
* Oversee the delivery of a quality service product to our customers at all times.
* Provide senior management with appropriate group reports.
* Comply with applicable safety standards.
* May represent the company in legal matters.
* When necessity dictates, may be required to perform duties normally handled by staff members reporting to them.
* Use initiative to solve problems (based on past experience).
* Make internal/external technical recommendations.
* Forecast needs, established objectives and prepare budget.
* Hire/terminate in accordance with company policy.
* May be required to sit on internal or external committees.

SKILLS REQUIRED

* Understanding of systems integrating to ICR system, including the workflow.
* Excellent knowledge of ICR and current system deployed in US or Canadian Brokerage.
* Fully conversant with all company policies / procedures related to ICR group.
* Working knowledge in all technical applications related to ICR group.
* Working knowledge of Customs Brokerage, forms and terminology.
* Working knowledge of all aspect of branch / department operations.
* Good interpersonal skills with the ability to deal effectively with staff and management.
* Excellent oral and written communication skills.
* Ability to handle stressful situations and high volume of work.
* Good organizational and administrative skills.
* Reflect a professional company image.
* Service oriented.
* Proficiency in the use of personal computer and the MS Office suite (Outlook, Word and Excel).

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:

Minimum education required:

Post-Secondary Education at Community College or University. In lieu of this, over ten years' experience in a management role supervising staff.

Minimum experience required:

Minimum three years' experience working with ICR/OCR technology implementing and maintaining the system

WORKING CONDITIONS

Standard office conditions with occasional overtime (regularly required to work extended hours- responsible for

multiple shifts). Potential for travel - multiple locations within Canada.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

Currently technology employed by the ICR group is IBM Datacap. Over time, this tool may be replaced or enhanced with other OCR technology. However, the focus and purpose of the group will not change, just the toolset.
