Job Description

University Information Services (UIS) provides technical services and enterprise applications to the University of Colorado campuses and the Office of the President. UIS is committed to excellence in customer service and technical expertise. Through the development of enterprise applications, UIS supports the University as a whole with systems used by students, faculty, human resources employees, finance employees, and others.

The Integrations Developer position will be tasked with requirements gathering, design, and development of Oracle Service Bus and PeopleSoft Internet Broker-based integrations. These integrations will service-enable the University's enterprise systems, provide a foundation for the development of composite and mash-up applications, and build service-based integrations to campus and departmental applications. This position reports to the Assistant Director of Advanced Technology and Enterprise Architecture and is exempt from the State of Colorado Classified Staff system.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Duties and responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:

* Analyze new requirements and existing business applications and processes to recommend and implement system enhancements and/or process improvements
* Develop, test, debug, modify, and document complex systems requiring thorough knowledge of University enterprise applications and business processes with little or no supervision
* Prepare detailed specifications for business applications projects, including development of new applications and customizations to be integrated with existing applications
* Work with established architectural frameworks to develop and enhance the approach of the integrations team to new problems
* Provide technical leadership, training, and support for the team
* Field incoming problem tickets from end users to resolve enterprise application issues
* Professional development including increasing knowledge of Higher Education as an industry, development tools, and practices and business skills

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

To be successful in this position, candidates will need the following:

* Knowledge of Oracle PeopleSoft software
* Knowledge of software integration processes and practices
* Knowledge and ability to create Technical and Functional documentation
* Strong problem solving skills and effective communication, along with the ability to work independently, as well as part of a cross-functional team
* Ability to grow technical skills to improve internal systems and processes
* Ability to interact positively, clearly, and professionally with customers, peers and upper management

System Administration, which also houses the Office of the President, is located in the uptown neighborhood of Denver with an office in Broomfield and a few smaller offices located on the campuses. However, this position is located in Denver. Many of our departments support the educational and research missions of the four University of Colorado campuses. The salary range for this position is $80,000 - $90,000, with final compensation commensurate with experience.

Minimum Qualifications:

* A bachelor's degree from an accredited institution of higher education. A combination of education, technology training and industry certifications, and related experience may substitute for the degree on a year for year basis.
* Five (5) years' experience working in Enterprise IT to include:
* Analyzing and identifying business processes and system issues to quickly identify solutions.
* Utilization of the scientific method and structured testing methodologies in the analysis of problems and the vetting of possible solutions
* Functional and Technical documentation experience which addresses the needs of the customer, including ability to write detailed test plans from requirements
* Two (2) years' experience with:
* Using all of the following variants of the XML markup language: XML, XML Schema, XPath, and XSLT or XQuery
* Development of SOAP Web Services
* Integration Development

Preferred Qualifications:

* Experience building integrations leveraging open standards.
* Expertise using one or more of the following variants of the XML markup language: XSLT, XML Schema, XPath, XQuery.
* Hands-on experience with containerization solutions, such as Docker.
* Hands-on experience with Elasticsearch search engine and GraphQL API query language.
* Experience with multiple programming languages, including Java.
* Experience in SQL and development of complex, performant queries in Oracle databases.
* Experience with continuous integration and continuous deployment tools and workflows.
* Experience with Jenkins.
* Prior experience in a Business Analyst role.
* Strong object modeling/software design skills.
