DESCRIPTION: Perform, coordinate, and customize activities for students in the school networked computer lab to coincide with district curriculum. Provide approved, extended enrichment programs to gifted and talented students and remedial assignments for student working below grade level. Perform maintenance and support for computers and technology in the school.

SALARY: Classified Grade F, $13.98 to $16.08 per hour, depending on relevant experience. 7.5 hours per day, Tuesday through Friday on the 9 month work schedule, paid over 12 months. Position is eligible for benefits.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

* Instruct, supervise, develop lesson plans for, and schedule students in the computer lab environment. Assist students individually and in groups in the use and care of computer hardware and software. Instruct students in keyboarding, word processing, and developing computer skills.
* Supervise lunch room and playground to ensure safety and security of students; administer and/or coordinate discipline as needed.
* May interpret for bilingual students in the computer lab based on school assignment.
* Confer with teacher to create individual assignments appropriate for special education and gifted/talented students, create and/or assign activities which correlate to classroom curriculum, and follow up on student progress.
* Maintain both the network and building computer hardware and software, including troubleshooting and contacting the Technology Department for assistance to solve technical problems.
* Administer student tests to determine student skills and progress in reading, math, and language arts. Prepare pre and post reports.
* Create, access, and distribute students progress reports on request.
* Maintain and update computer student database.
* Collect and process Internet Permission Forms and monitor student Internet use.
* Maintain inventory of computer hardware, software, and lab materials. Order materials as requested or needed.
* Set up teacher/class lists for network assignments and type-to-learn.
* Assist Principal, teachers, and parents in purchase of new hardware and computer-related instruction materials.
* Must frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.

QUALIFICATIONS:

* High School diploma or equivalent required.
* Communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills
* Knowledge and understanding of personal computers and computer networking.
* Ability to work with students with special needs.
* Operating knowledge of and experience with computers, software, peripherals, and general office equipment.
* Knowledge of iPad and Chromebook use in the educational setting is preferred.
* Bilingual (English/Spanish) skills helpful.
* Must be able to pass a Colorado and Federal Bureau of Investigation background check.
* 1 year of related experience and life experience working with children in groups preferred.
* 1 year of experience with hardware and software troubleshooting preferred.
* Experience with Microsoft XP, and Microsoft office suite.
