Job Description

Fivesky is looking for a highly motivated and talented Innovation Lab Engineer to join a fun and exciting team in a state-of-the-art lab environment. The lab focuses on exploiting technology to gain a competitive advantage in the global marketplace. You should expect to work with some of the city's brightest in tech to explore cutting edge NextGen solutions. The ideal candidate would be responsible for planning, designing and building enterprise systems and have a background working in software development, machine learning, or AI.

As the Innovation Lab Engineer, your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to, the following:

* Researching, testing and implementing transformational technologies leading future innovations within the organization. (i.e., AI/Machine Learning, Data Analytics & Visualization, User Experience, Automation, and NextGen Architecture).
* Driving product ideas through to delivery
* Working with stakeholders to research evaluate and facilitate the adoption of standards that ensure competitive advantage within the industry.
* Use a combination of hands-on technical skills and managerial acumen to program and teach biz dev teams about challenges within investment technologies.

Qualifications:

* Bachelor's in Information Technology, Computer Science or a related discipline.
* 2+ years of relevant experience in an enterprise, fintech or startup environment experience

Skills & Experiences:

You possess the ability to move between technologies and languages with an obsession for learning and as many of the following:

* Programming languages, Python Preferred (i.e., Java, Node.js, Python, R)
* Python Programming and Scripting
* API integration
* Track record of learning up and coming technologies at work or in your spare time

What you will be playing with:

* Understanding of Web technologies (i.e., Angular, ReactJS, JavaScript)
* DevOps technologies/tools (i.e., Git, Jenkins, Docker/Kubernetes)
* SysAdmin/scripting (i.e., UNIX, Windows, Networking)
* Database technologies (i.e., SQL Server, Postgres, MongoDB, Neo4j)
* Cloud IaaS/PaaS
* Big data (i.e., Hadoop, Spark, Kafka , Alteryx)
* DataViz (i.e. Tableau, Zoomdata, PowerBI)
* Natural language processing (NLP)
