Job Description

The Emerging Systems is an internal tech incubator with a strong focus on solving the challenge of how software teams interface with Infrastructure tools and technologies. We've created data-streaming applications, a containerized blog infrastructure hosted on Kubernetes, and are now redefining how Infrastructure is delivered to other software teams at Wayfair.

As a small, high-leverage team, we work very closely with many other software and infrastructure teams to define requirements, build proofs of concept, and push tested solutions into production.

We are looking for sharp, logical thinkers who love to experiment with new technologies, and are passionate about solving problems.

What You'll Do

* Collaborate with teams across the business to establish requirements, design, build, and iterate on proofs of concepts from initial concept to production ready.
* Own projects from inception to production. Identify, experiment, and evaluate to determine which tools and technologies to use.
* Craft requirements and success metrics for your projects.
* Develop/review software architecture, review code, mentor and share your knowledge with others.

* Learn a lot, create some cool stuff, and have fun.

What You'll Need

Wayfair has a wide array of technologies: object-oriented skills are great, functional programming, database, and scripting language experience are all prized. Knowledge of some of the following technologies is good, and a willingness to learn is even better!

Overall you should have 6+ years experience, but not needed in one particular technology
