POSITION/JOB TITLE: Infrastructure Manager

DEPARTMENT: Information Technology

DIRECT SUPERVISOR: CIO

TRAVEL: Occasional (10%)

POSITION SUMMARY:

The Infrastructure Manager's role is to manage the IT staff/vendors and the overall operations to ensure a highly available and stable IT infrastructure across all sites. This includes developing, maintaining, supporting, and optimizing key functional areas, particularly network infrastructure, server infrastructure, desktop infrastructure, data communications and telecommunications systems. The Infrastructure Manager will support road map objectives with a heavy emphasis on improving all areas of IT infrastructure, modernizing IT platforms and security.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

* Manage and enhance all aspects of IT infrastructure delivery including, but not limited to network, servers, telecommunications, operations, maintenance, desktop and user support.
* Manage and oversee the organization's infrastructure technology staff and support groups including network and server infrastructure, data center, telecommunications and desktop support.
* Manage relationships and operational activities with managed service and technology providers.
* Provide technical direction and guidance in the design and execution of infrastructure technology ensuring technology and architecture is appropriate for the organization's business process and needs. Analyze existing operations and make recommendations for the improvement and growth of the infrastructure, systems and services.
* Manage the planning, implementation and documentation of all infrastructure projects.
* Manage the design, maintenance, development, and evaluation of all infrastructure systems, including LANs, WANs, Internet, wireless implementations, etc.
* Manage the deployment and configuration of systems utilizing strict change management processes and procedures.
* Develop and implement operational SLA reporting dashboards and develop strategies to improve operations and service delivery.
* Assist the IT security team with the planning and deployment of infrastructure security initiatives.
* Maintain policies, procedures and all documentation for infrastructure administration.
* Responsible for all infrastructure asset management, including maintenance of inventory and related documentation.
* Lead contract and maintenance renewals with vendors to procure infrastructure products and services.
* Prepare RFPs, statement of work reports, business case justifications, cost/benefit analyses and other documentation for infrastructure projects and initiatives.
* Conduct research and make recommendations on products, services, protocols, and standards in support of all infrastructure procurement and development efforts.
* Promote continuous improvement by leveraging best practices and quality improvement methodologies.

QUALIFICATIONS / WORK EXPERIENCE / EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS:

* Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or Information Technology field.
* 12 years of IT experience delivering infrastructure operational excellence.
* 5+ years of experience managing operations and infrastructure for a public company.
* 5+ years of experience managing vendors and contracts.
* Experience in network administration, network design/support, server administration.
* Experience managing a MS Windows core services environment.
* Experience with Active Directory/Group Policy administration.
* Experience implementing server virtualization (VMware)
* Experience configuring network equipment such as routers, switches, firewalls, VPN, etc.
* Experience with telephony administration.
* Experience designing, developing, managing and monitoring IT infrastructure policy, procedures, as well as adherence to SLA's.
* Experience with ITIL framework and ITSM.
* Experience establishing and maintaining relationships with individuals at all levels of the organization.
* Experience using organization and time management skills to meet deadlines while managing multiple priorities.
* Process-oriented with documentation and project management skills.
* Experience identifying operational issues and implementing strategies to resolve problems.
* Experience analyzing and reporting data in order to identify issues, trends, or exceptions to drive improvement of results.
* Certifications a plus.
