The AWS Infrastructure organization is looking for a passionate, results-oriented Infrastructure Planning Leader to own defining the business requirements that enhance our Data Center build scheduling platform, enabling new Infrastructure engineering innovations and working closely with technology and business teams to successfully implement.

The Infrastructure organization within AWS is responsible for creating an optimized supply-chain platform that delivers all of Amazon's storage and compute capacity at the lowest possible cost.
Within the AWS Infrastructure org, the Data Center Capacity Planning team is responsible for planning and triggering incremental data center builds. Hardware Engineering, Networking Engineering, and DC Design Engineering innovations are a constant and our capacity planning systems, and processes need to keep up with these innovations. In this role, you and your team will work closely with planning, operations, finance, engineering, and software development teams to deliver high quality and robust capacity planning processes that achieve favorable business outcomes. Successful candidates will be analytical with business and finance acumen and detail driven with excellent written and verbal communication skills. You should also be obsessed with improving AWS Infrastructure performance by embracing and driving innovation and continuous improvement, with disciplined attention to key performance and financial metrics.
Responsibilities include leading strategic planning and financial analyses in support of business groups, partnering with VP, Director and category/business leaders to work toward business expansion goals, working directly for business leaders and cross-functional teams to present results of ad hoc business and statistical analysis and recommendations to senior management for decision making, developing and automating reporting of key performance metrics using Excel, SQL, Tableau, Cognos and other tools to achieve business goals. You and your team will also perform business and financial forecasting, spreadsheet modeling, write complex SQL queries to gather financial and operational data needed for analysis, review and measure operational performance on a regular basis including ad-hoc audits of metrics for accuracy, build and review bi-yearly operational plans for detailed budgeting, forecasting.
Additionally, you will also define standard reports, develop and maintain reporting for providing visibility to business performance, surface issues that need urgent mitigation using tools such as SQL, Power BI, and Python, identify data sources, determine their validity, analyze variance in data between various systems and reconcile that information to develop a single source of truth for critical business information
