Job Description

The Advanced Satcom Systems and Operations Group is involved in a synergistic combination of research, proof-of-concept test beds, and system engineering/application efforts focused on the goals of enhancing the capacity, the robustness to interference, and the flexibility of future generations of communications satellites, as well as line-of-sight radio communications systems. Current research is concentrating on the design and performance of advanced waveforms (including higher-order signaling constellations and iterative demodulation/decoding), the construction of flexible, adaptive wideband frequency plans, robust acquisition and tracking techniques, dynamic resource-allocation protocols, and advanced networking strategies. Promising research results are verified in hardware/software proof-of-concept implementations that provide quantitative performance data as well as complexity information. The group's system engineering activities apply new concepts and technologies to specific communications programs in the national interest.

Job Description

The candidate will provide information systems security support Lincoln Laboratory programs. The candidate must work independently, be reliable, and be able to balance multiple tasks simultaneously. Candidate must have strong interpersonal skills to support the research teams. Candidate must be knowledgeable in computer security principless, to include the Risk Management Framework (RMF), Security Technical Implementation Guides (STIGs), National Industrial Security Program Operating Manual (NISPOM), and Defense Security Service (DSS) Assessment and Authorization Manual (DAAPM). Candidate must have strong technical skills and be able to respond to off-hours emergencies.

Core Responsibilities

* Assist with configuration and management of collateral classified systems and networks in a variety of traditional and virtual environments
* Assist in the development and maintenance of System Security Plans
* Ensure systems are operated, maintained, and disposed of in accordance with security policies
* Collect, analyze, and store system audit records
* Conduct network, system, and application vulnerability scanning, configuration assessment, and remediation
* Prepare for and participate in periodic organization compliance assessments
* Ensure account management documentation is complete and updated
* Maintain configuration management documentation

Requirements

* Associates degree in Information Technology, Computer Information Systems, or related discipline
* A minimum of 3 years of experience in DoD IT Industrial Security
* DoD 8570 IAM Level I Baseline Certification required
* Experience using vulnerability scanning tools, audit reduction tools, and endpoint security products
* Technical experience and skill securing operating systems
* Experience directly related to certification and authorization with RMF, DAAPM, and JSIG
* The candidate will be subject to pre-employment investigation and must meet all eligibility requirements for access to classified information
