Information Security Specialist, Mid

Key Role:

Serve as an information systems security officer (ISSO) for appointed systems as assigned by the chief information security officer (CISO) and local information systems security manager (ISSM). Support day-to-day system security operations to ensure that operational security is maintained for various information systems. Determine security control alternatives, conduct security controls testing, and review network scans to determine abnormalities. Capture and refine information security requirements for new systems and for enhanced functionality on existing system and ensure that the requirements are effectively integrated into information systems throughout the system development life cycle (SDLC). Assist with assessing information assurance long term needs and acquisition requirements to accomplish mission objectives.

Basic Qualifications:

* 5+ years of experience in information security
* Knowledge of assured compliance assessment solution (ACAS), including Nessus and Tenable
* Knowledge of IAW ICD 503, risk management framework (RMF)
* Top Secret clearance
* BA or BS degree
* CISSP, CISA, or CISM Certification

Additional Qualifications:

* Experience with the DoD, intelligence community (IC), or national level system security initiatives and classified programs and infrastructures
* Experience reporting IT security events and incidents in the time prescribed based on policies and procedures
* Experience with supporting the Joint worldwide intelligence system (JWICS)
* Experience in network or system administration, or computer operations
* Knowledge of how to use the national vulnerability database (NVD) and national information assurance partnership (NIAP) portals to review software or hardware vulnerabilities
* Knowledge of Cloud architecture
* Knowledge of virtualization
* Possession of interpersonal and presentation skills

Clearance:

Applicants selected will be subject to a security investigation and may need to meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information; Top Secret clearance is required.
