Job Description
Facebook seeks a highly-motivated and experienced professional to serve as an Information Governance Specialist. The position is located in the eDiscovery & Information Governance Team within Facebook's Legal Department. The Information Governance Specialist will work with partners across the company to support information retention and disposition needs as well as play a key role in developing information governance policies and best practices.
The ideal candidate is an experienced project manager with information governance expertise and a natural communicator who can work closely with teams throughout Facebook to guide and advise on information governance issues. The Information Governance Specialist will have the opportunity to work with legal and business partners to develop world-class and cutting-edge solutions to information governance challenges. The candidate should have great intellectual curiosity and a desire to invest time and energy into learning and growing as a subject matter expert. The candidate should have the ability to work proactively with teams to build consensus across the organization, including legal, IT and security. In addition, excellent judgment and comfort operating independently in a fast-paced environment is required.
RESPONSIBILITIES
* Apply information governance subject matter expertise when partnering with inhouse and outside counsel on active litigation, regulatory, and investigation matters.
Meaningfully contribute to and execute strategic plans for information governance companywide.
Contribute to the design and implementation of information governance best practices including templates, workflows, and policies.
Rapidly identify, analyze and address complicated issues, and distill that complexity into simple and concise communication in cross-functional settings.
Work collaboratively with the eDiscovery and Information Governance Team members, case teams, business partners, outside counsel, and vendors.
Assist with vendor and information governance tool evaluation and selection.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
* 5+ years of work experience at a law firm, government agency, or in-house with a focus on records management and information governance
Experience managing electronic records and data projects
Experience with information governance technology and tools
Experience coordinating with a variety of audiences, including legal, technical, and policy teams, and communicating across cross-functional partnerships
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
* Strategic thinker with analytical and problem-solving experience
Well-developed organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills
Ability to think under pressure, both individually and in a team environment
