This intern will be focused on reporting and data, including basic programming. The intern will work with our business teams to understand and document data requirements for assigned projects, and develop and execute SQL queries and create associated reports.

Primary duties may include:

* Write and execute SQL queries to extract healthcare claims data from data warehouses
* Summarize data using SQL, SAS, and/or MS Excel
* Participate in design and development of dashboards and data visualization views
* Document data definitions and data integrity issues
* Follow established processes for cross-validation, data cleansing, and quality checks

This position will be located in Walnut Creek, CA.

Qualifications

* Pursuing degree in a quantitative discipline such as Mathematics, Statistics, Economics, Computer Science, or Engineering
* Understanding of relational databases, some experience writing SQL queries, and spreadsheet/MS Excel experience required
* Must be able to communicate effectively with technical and non-technical team members
* Experience working with large complex datasets is a plus, as is exposure to building views in data visualization tools, SAS, and/or web-based programming experience
* Candidates should possess intellectual curiosity, collaborative mindset, motivation to refine query programming skills, and an interest in the healthcare industry
