Northwestern IT, based in the heart of Evanston, is looking for a detail-oriented individual who loves working with enterprise systems and collaborating with clients across the University to deliver new functionality through requirements gathering and documentation, application configuration and testing. The ideal candidate would have strong analytical and critical thinking skills, solid written and verbal communication skills, and prior experience acting as a functional, business or systems analyst. Experience with PeopleSoft HRMS/HCM (e.g., Payroll, Recruiting, Workforce Management, Self Service) or a similar system is a plus!

Job Summary:

As part of the IT Enterprise Systems Human Resources & Student (ESHRS) team, the Business Systems Analyst works on the design, implementation, support, maintenance, and enhancement of NU's Human Resources related enterprise, vendor and in-house developed applications. This role collaborates with key business clients across the University, developers, and other analysts to define detailed functional requirements, create test scripts, and execute testing for enhancements to our core HR systems. The Business Systems Analyst also participates in and documents business process improvement efforts, and troubleshoots production issues. The role typically works with senior staff, but has the opportunity to coordinate smaller or less complex projects independently.

Minimum Qualifications:

* Successful completion of a full 4-year course of study in an accredited college or university leading to a bachelor's or higher degree in a major such as computer science, information technology, or related; OR appropriate combination of education and experience.
* 2 years functional/business/system analysis or other relevant experience required.
* Experience in the following:
* Infrastructure: Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access, Outlook)
* Project: collaboration and teamwork, facilitate collaboration, functional documentation, organizational skills, planning, write proposals and project charters

Preferred Qualifications:

* Experience in a higher education institution.
* Experience with Oracle/PeopleSoft's or similar HCM products.
* Experience with Kronos or similar Timekeeping product is a plus.
* Experience working with/in the Human Resources discipline.

* Experience with software development processes.
