We are currently seeking a Hadoop Administrator for our client in the IT-Consulting domain. Primary Skills: Hadoop

Role Description: The Hadoop Administrator would need to have at least 5+ years of experience.

Required Experience and Skills:

* 6+ years of Hadoop Administration experience in a data environment
* 2+ years of Splunk Administration experience
* 4+ years of software development experience in a data environment
* Should have a solid understanding of core application architecture design, development, best practices, and application/ data security.
* Experience in Hadoop Administration activities such as installation, configuration, and management of clusters in Cloudera (CDH) Hortonworks (HDP) Distributions using Cloudera Manager and Ambari.
* Hands on experience in installing, configuring, and using Hadoop ecosystem components like HDFS, MapReduce, Hive, Impala, Sqoop, Pig, Oozie, Zookeeper, Spark, Solr, Hue, Flume, Accumulo, Storm, Kafka and Yarn distributions.
* Administration, Configuration and proactive monitoring of Splunk
* Need a good understanding of architecture definition and design of integrated IT solutions.
* Monitoring, troubleshooting and incident resolution
* Alerts management, capacity management
* Backup/archival management and restoration
* Ability to manage data retention policies and perform index administration, maintenance and optimization, configuration backups.
* Good working knowledge of Cloudera data platform (Cloudera Hadoop implementation on BDA on prem)
* Good working knowledge of UNIX, Linux OS
* Good working knowledge of Cloudera data platform Cloudera Hadoop implementation on BDA
* Need a good understanding of architecture definition and design of integrated IT solutions.
* Need to exercise application security best practices and will be responsible to develop and deploy mitigations for any application or security vulnerabilities.
* Coordinates with offshore team to ensure that both platform support and data engineering services are delivered optimally
* Also be responsible for architecting end to end Data Engineering solutions
* Will coordinate with business users for architecting Data Engineering solutions
* Designs solution approach and finalizes strategies

Must Have Skills:

* Hadoop Administration
* Splunk Administration
* Hadoop solution architect

Nice to Have Skills:

* MySQL admin
* Spark admin

Education: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Electrical/Electronic Engineering, Information Technology or another related field or Equivalent.
