Job Description

The GSA file Developer duties include design, development, and testing of software tools in support of the GSA File storage cloud. The tools are used to provide file storage self-management capabilities to internal IBM employees as well as back end admin tools for the delivery team. Development areas will include user interfaces, system interfaces, databases, middleware, and system integration components. Responsibilities include deployment of the tools to development, testing, and production environments. You will be responsible for operational support of the applications they build, debugging issues, and creating patches for defects. In addition, you will be part of the GSA Development squad. This resource will be co-located with the team in Austin, TX, no remote work.

Required Technical and Professional Expertise

* 1 to 2 years of sound programming skills in common languages such as C/Java/or Python
* 1 to 2 years of experience in shell scripting
* 1 to 2 years of in-depth knowledge of Unix (AIX or Linux) background

Preferred Tech and Prof Experience

* Background in shared filesystems, JAVA, C, and web design a plus
* Experience in Perl a big plus
