Job Description

The Integrated Systems and Concepts Group specializes in the rapid development and demonstration of innovative optical system solutions to address difficult challenges facing the Department of Defense, Department of Homeland Security, NASA, and other U.S. government entities. The group maintains broad expertise in electro-optical and infrared sensors, charge-coupled devices, focal plane arrays, ground/air/space electronics, image processing, video exploitation, and low size/weight/power optical communications systems. The group leverages this core expertise to architect, prototype, build, and deploy hardware and software systems in support of mission needs. Emphasis is on working closely with end users to develop enabling concepts and then building and fielding integrated systems on responsive timelines. The group seeks self-motivated engineers and scientists with multi-disciplinary skill sets and a passion for conceptualizing, designing, and building systems that address national critical needs.

Job Description

The Integrated Systems and Concepts Group (Group 99) in the Space Systems and Technology Division at MIT Lincoln Laboratory requires support from an experienced IT professional who is comfortable with both the Windows and Linux operating systems with an emphasis on the Linux side. In addition the candidate should have a strong working knowledge of computer networks and experience with networking and security appliances. The candidate will be supporting end users as well as building high performance systems to support research and development projects.

Applicant requirements:

* An existing secret level or higher security clearance (Interim is acceptable)
* A four year degree in Computer Science or Information Technology
* 5 years experience with desktop and server support (installation, patching, auditing, configuration, security, Active Directory integration, SMB/CIFS, NFS, etc.)
* Experience with enterprise storage systems (SAN, NAS, etc)
* Experience and understanding of network architectures
* Experience with backup solutions (tape/SATA, etc)
* Experience writing scripts (bash, perl, python etc)
* Demonstrated ability to work well in a team, to solve challenging problems, and to self-motivate.

Preferred

* Experience with the DIACAP and/or RMF frameworks
* CISCO knowledge (networking and security hardware)
* Experience with long-haul networks (hardware, out of band management)
* Experience with Type I and Type II encryption devices (ie KG-175)
* Professional certifications:
* Security+
* MTA/MCSA/MCSE
* CCNA/CCNP
* CISSP



Experience installing and developing cloud infrastructure and services (Azure/AWS/etc)
