Job Description

TASC, an Engility Company, is looking for an exceptional Ground Systems Engineer to join our talented team in either Greenbelt, MD or Silver Spring, MD. The team provides Systems Engineering services to the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) National Environmental Satellite, Data, and Information Services (NESDIS) Office of Satellite Ground Services (OSGS). We are looking for standout engineers to provide engineering and programmatic support to the systems engineering lifecyle including architecture, requirements, analysis, verification and transition. Focus of position is transformation to the Ground Software enterprise.

Provide technical leadership and expertise as technical SETA support Ground System Program Office. Key functions include:

* Retain cognizance of wide variety of NOAA mission projects including, technical baseline, project schedules, dependencies, risks and cost
* Advise Senior and Mid-Level managers on architectural decisions to include investment strategies, acquisition portfolio priorities, risk assessment of project execution
* Decomposing a high level strategic roadmap into actionable program plans
* Translating enterprise architectural vision into functional/capability increments
* Executing cost/benefit trades to provide investment recommendations
* Provide recommendations on transition strategies and technical implementations for satellite ground systems
* Compose strategic / topical requirements for new ground systems
* Accomplish performance assessment and provide estimates of cost, schedule and risk impacts to existing Ground architecture implementations
* Identify and coordinate issues that affect programs within the acquisition office
