Job Description

The Software Assessment and Ingestion team (SAI) is a new team that creates and evangelizes a framework for the use of third party software (SaaS) at Amazon. The team helps business groups to navigate the earliest portions of the product lifecycle, from evaluation to ingestion and deployment. They act as a connection point between finance, security, and business teams requesting and deploying third party tools. They help business teams make smart choices about which products to deploy and how to deploy them, with a focus on controlling for license usage and security risk. The team will look for ways to automate these processes and create tools to enable the team to scale. The team will have an initial focus on Salesforce. Successful candidates will have experience building new teams and defining ways to meet strategic priorities.

Key deliverables for this team include:

* Create a scalable software catalog for third party / SaaS products and instances.
* Create a tool for listing and tracking software licenses. This tool will automate tracking and reporting on license usage.
* Create a framework for evaluating third-party applications along with internal tools.

The SAI team is looking for a systems engineer to develop, test, release, and maintain tools for cataloguing and reporting on third party products. The candidate will collaborate and consult with key stakeholders in Operations, Security, and Finance to collaborate on key business initiatives. The ideal candidate is a self-starter, detail oriented, organized, and able to work on multiple tasks simultaneously in a fast-paced environment. The engineer will create and maintain reporting and dashboards on both supported software and the team. Integrates tools with other Amazon databases and systems. Evaluates, understands, and communicates inherent security risks and solutions to technical and non-technical business owners. Helps to identify the information required to assess the team's ability to scale and take on new work. Salesforce is the most critical product for this team, and some existing tools are hosted on Salesforce Lightning.
